Site Clearing

We made a brief visit to the site on a rainy Saturday to drop off some things and sign permit paperwork. We got to see the house site fully cleared for the first time. This included clearing trees down the steep hill side in front of where the living area windows will be.

We could always get a hint at the view peeking through the trees, especially in the winter. Seeing it for the first time was thrilling. There is a steep valley and a low ridge right in front of us. The bits of mist you see in the photo was some fog floating in that valley. In the distance is North Mountain, blurry and grey through the drizzle.

We also got to see the beginnings of the septic system going in, as well as conduit ready for running electric up from the road. The next visit will be the first weekend of August, where we should see the hole dug for the house and the road bed of the driveway complete.
